  • Yesterday, the Chamber held its Annual Meeting at the Cumberland Country Club, a fantastic afternoon celebrating our members, reflecting on the past year, and looking ahead to an exciting 2026.

  • JOIN US TOMORROW!

The Allegany County Chamber of Commerce, together with Canal Place Preservation and Development Authority (CPPDA) and Passages of the Western Potomac Heritage Area (PWPHA), will be hosting a public meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 25, at 6:00 p.m. at the Allegany Museum. The meeting will also be available to view on the Passages of the Western Potomac Heritage Area and Canal Place YouTube channel after the meeting for anyone unable to attend.

Speakers will include Deidra Ritchie, Executive Director for the PWPHA and CPPDA, who will provide an overview of the progress to date on the project and important benchmarks that have been reached. Ashli Workman, Director of Tourism for Allegany County, will discuss the benefits to the local outdoor recreation economy and how this project will directly benefit our communities. Andrew Arnold from GD&F, the contractor working on land-based amenities of the River Park, will provide an update on trail design and the status of that portion of the project. Robert Smith, City Engineer for Cumberland, will update everyone on the technical attributes of the project that will be addressed as the project moves forward and how that will impact the area.
  • The Allegany County Chamber of Commerce is proud to serve as a partner for the annual FSU/WCBC Student Salute, sponsored by Chessie Federal Credit Union. Each year, qualifying Allegany County high school seniors are selected to be featured on the morning broadcasts of WCBC Radio outlining their academic achievement, leadership, and community involvement. The featured salutes air between January and April each year.
